POSTER PRESENTATIONS AT THE 7th ANNUAL FOCUS CONFERENCE

Attention All Students,

Focus Publications wishes to remind our student colleagues of the Poster Competition being held at the 6th annual FOCUS Conference April 19 - 21, 2007 in Nashville, TN.  This student-only competition, will be conducted by a panel of Respiratory Care Educators and Managers, chaired by Dr. Paul Mathews PhD, RRT, of the University of Kansas.

 Accepted posters will be displayed in the exhibit hall at the FOCUS conference on April 19th and 20th.  Principal authors of selected posters are encouraged to be present to explain/discuss their work in person on the last day of the display (April 20, 2007) from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm. In order to help them afford to be present, presenting authors of accepted posters will have their registration fee to the conference, (normally $100) completely waived. (one presenting author per poster).  This discount is unprecedented and enables students to attend and present at a national-caliber conference, free of charge!

All accepted posters will then be entered into a judged competition, the culmination of which will be the awarding of 5 cash prizes and certificates. First prize is $500, 2nd prize is $250, 3rd prize is $125, 4th prize is $50 and fifth prize is $25. All accepted posters will earn a certificate of participation even if they do not place amongst the top 5 winners. 

SPECIFICATIONS:

Size: Up to twelve (8 ½ X 11) inch panels may be used.

Content: Title Page, Abstract Page, Introduction, Literature Review, Materials and Methods, Findings, Analysis, Conclusions-Recommendations, References
 
Submission Deadline: February 15, 2007

Notification to authors (that posters have been accepted):  March 20, 2007

Submit for consideration of acceptance, the Title page and Abstract Page only
Title Page should only include the title, name of author(s), name of presenter, institutional contact information and content area designation (Clinical, or Management/Education).  The Abstract Page should also include the title of the presentation. Submit as standard 8.5 X 11 copy and include a stamped self-addressed envelope for notification of acceptance.  Submit Abstract and Title Page for consideration to: Paul Mathews PhD, RRT, FAARC
